Gerhard Müller was born on the 3rd of November 1945, in Nördlingen, Germany; he was more commonly known as Gerd or “Der Bomber”.

Gerd Muller was a former German football player and was hailed as the greatest goal-scorer of the modern era. He scored 68 goals in 62 games for West Germany during the 1970s which includes the win in the 1974 World Cup Final. He had collected 628 goals in first class football that included 365 goals for Bayern Munich during his 14 year career.

In 1982, Muller ended his career and had suffered from alcoholism. But his former companions at Bayern Munich urge him to go through alcohol rehabilitation and gave him a job as a coach at Bayern Munich II. Adidas released a collection of apparel that was under his name that was part of the Adidas originals series. Riesaer Sportpark, in Nördlingen, where he began his career was named after him in his honor in 2008.
