Riley Cote

Riley Cote is a Canadian winger on the Philadelphia Flyers.

Cote signed with the Maple Leafs as an undrafted free agent in 2002. He spent time in both the Maple Leafs' farm system and the Columbus Blue Jackets' minor league organization, before being signed by Philadelphia in 2006. He was injured while playing for the Philadelphia Phantoms and missed most of the season, but returned late in the season and picked a fight on his first shift. He was called up to play 8 games for the Flyers in 2006-07.

Cote made the Flyers' permanent roster in 2007, and played 70 games. He scored only 4 points, but racked up 202 penalty minutes. Cote and teammate Steve Downie are making names for themselves as some of the league's premier enforcers, and have helped make Philadelphia one of the most physical teams in the NHL.
