Shahjaad Khan- born 8th of December 1986 in Bolton, Greater Manchester, England. He was more commonly known as “Amir Khan”.

At the age of 18, Amir Khan became a professional boxer after beating Cuban Mario Kindelan to revenge his defeat in 2004’ Olympic lightweight final. Amir Khan signe a three-year professiona deal with promoter Frank Warren.

At the age of 17, Amir had three English Schools titles. He had three Junior ABA titles; a gold in 2003 Junior Olympics, gold in 2004 European Championships, gold in 2004 World Junior Championships in South Korea. He also won silver in 2004 Athens Olympics which brought him to fame.

He is currently the Commonwealth Lightweight champion. He is also the WBO Inter-Continental lightweight champion and the WBA International Lightweight champion. He is currently ranked the 58th in the United Kingdom by Boxrec.com in the lightweight division.

Amir is currently studying his final years in BTEC in sports development and fitness at Bolton Community College. He would like to take up sports science or physiotherapy at Loughborough University so that he would have something to fall back on. However, the increasing amount of interest in him and the tempting offers of high cash in his fame turned professional.

Since Amir’s return from the Athens, he was commonly known as a superstar. According to his agent, Asif Vali, the people’s interest in Amir was phenomenal. Amir has been offered everything, from record deals up to roles in films.

But behind every lucrative offer, he does not display even a hint of arrogance and his family still remains their feet on the ground. He is a well-known British Muslim which helps him encourage better relations between British Muslims to wider communities more particularly in his hometown of Bolton.
