Zeljko Kalac is a former Australian international footballer currently features for the Italian giants AC Milan. He is a goalkeeper and is actually the second choice for Milan at the moment. He is of Croatian descent.

Zeljko Kalac rose through the ranks of the Australian side Sydney Croatia (now Sydney United) and made his senior debut for the club in 1989. In 1985 he made the big move across the oceans to England to play for Leicester City then in the old English Division One.

But he couldn't settle in Leicester and after just one season was offloaded to fellow English side Wolverhampton. But failure to get a work permit he moved back to Australia to play for his old club and in 1998 he signed for Eredivisie side Roda JC.

Kalac made 80 appearances in his four seasons at Roda and moved to Italy to play for Peruggia in July 2002 after three seasons was signed on a free transfer to AC Milan in 2005. But he has been a second choice behind Dida in the Milan goal.

Kalac made his international debut for Australia way back in 1994 and the veteran custodian made 54 apperances for his nation in international football matches and featured in the 2006 World Cup in Germany before announcing his international retirement on October 4,2006.
