He however never managed to feature in a single Italian Serie A match for them and during those years played on loan for a number of clubs including Monza.
In 2000 Colombo was signed by Padova and featured in 126 league matches for them. He played for San Marino for the 2005-2006 season and then moved to Bologna in 2006.
