Anderson Luis de Abreu Oliveira, commonly known simply as Anderson, is a Brazilian international who currently features for the Premiership and European giants Manchester United. He plays as an attacking midfielder. He can also play as a winger or as a second striker.

Anderson commenced his footballing career at Brazilian giants Gremio and made his first team debut in 2005, playing 5 Brazilian Serie B matches in the second half of the year as well as playing in the 2005 Gaucho State Championship in the first half. It was his goal that sealed Gremio’s promotion to the Serie A.

FC Porto then came calling for the then teenage star and signed the player in December 2005. Anderson made his league debut for Porto in March 2006 and after 18 league appearances(only 18 because of the broken leg that he suffered which ruled him out for five months of the 2006-2007 season), he was signed by Manchester United in the summer of 2007 for 18 million pounds.

Anderson made his competitive debut for Man United against Sunderland on September 1,2007 and went onto to feature in 24 Premier League matches in the 2007-2008 season and was hailed as a great acquisition for the club.

Anderson made his debut for the Brazilian national team in June 2007 in their 2-0 defeat to Mexico in Copa America and made his first start for his nation against Chile in a 3-0 win in July 2007.
