Abou Diaby

Vassiriki Abou Diaby is a French international footballer who currently features for the Premiership giants Arsenal. He plays as a central midfielder but of late has been featuring on either wing for the Gunners.

Abou Diaby commenced his footballing career at French side Auxerre and made his senior debut for the club in 2004. He played for them for one and a half seasons but without much success and in January 2006 was signed by Arsenal for a reported 2 million pounds.

Abou Diaby made his Arsenal debut as a substitute in a 1-0 defeat to Everton in January 2006. He has gradually earned the confidence of his Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger and started several league and cup games for the Gunners in the 2007-2008 season.

Abou Diaby was called up to the French national side in March 2007 for their two forthcoming fixtures and made his debut in a Euro 2008 qualifier against Lithuania and then played against Austria.
