Schenn was drafted by Toronto 5th overall in the 2008 draft, after his impressive career with the Kelowna Rockets in the WHL. Schenn played very well in his first few games in the 2008-09 season, and earned a spot on the permanent roster with the Leafs. Schenn is most noted for his strong physical presence and ability to take players out of the play with his large frame.
Schenn played for Team Canada at the 2007 and 2008 World Junior Championships, winning gold in 2008.
