Sebastian Abreu fan club
Washington Sebastian Abreu Gallo was born in Uruguay and had only one purpose in life, to play football. Called "El Loco" or "The Mad Man", Sebastian has been a prolific goal scorer for many teams throughout his career. Sebastian was part of Nacional's squad in 2001 when they won the first of their titles over the next five years. He went on to win the Uruguayan league twice while he won the Apertura title twice and the Clausura title once.
Abreu went on to play football in Europe where he had a stint at Deportivo de La Coruna. He barely managed to get any playing time and spent most of his days on loan to smaller sides. In 2007, Abreu returned closer to home as he became a part of the squad at UNAL Tigres, in the 2007 season of the Mexican league. He decided to join River Plate then forth, however, his contract negotiations collapsed after the Mexican FA caused major issues.
So, in early 2008, Abreu left the club to join Beitar Jerualem FC in Israel. His tryst with the club lasted only through the first few rounds of the UEFA Champions League after which Beitar were eliminated. He refused to play games in the local tournament due to non-payment of salary dues.
Abreu has been a part of the national team squad since 1966 and has played at the 2002 FIFA World Cup.
