She was born in Samara, Russia on July 3, 1991 and eventually started playing tennis when she was 6 years old. She grew up in a family of tennis players where her father, Sergey Pavlyuchenkov; mother, Marina; and brother, Aleksander are tennis coaches.

Officially coached by Patrick Mouratoglou, Anastasia has 7 wins and 1 loss in the current year singles record; 6 wins and 1 loss in the current year doubles; and 131 wins and 23 losses in the career singles record. She plays more comfortably on clay and hard surfaces and is strong in her forehand down the line, crosscourt backhand and her service.

She was in the newspaper headlines when she was known to be the only Russian player to beat Caroline Wozniacki for the Australian Open junior title. She defended her title the next year, defeating Madison Brengle. She also earned her US Open junior title when she defeated Tamira Paszek.

Anastasia’s exceptional success allowed her to join the WTA and ITF tournaments. She eventually won an ITF game in 2006 in Italy. That same year, she got her wildcard opportunity to the Kremlin Cup. Nicole Vaidisova defeated her in 6-3, 6-3 and lost to Julia Vakulenko in the 2007 Australian Open frustrating her to reach the final qualifying round.

Another wildcard was given to her for the 2007 Wimbledon Championships. She was defeated by Daniela Hantuchova in 6-0, 6-1 in over half an hour. But in 2008, she took part as the youngest female player in the singles tournament. During the first round, she won a game over Alize Cornet.
