William Gallas

William Gallas is a French international footballer who currently features for the Premiership football club Arsenal. He is a versatile defender who can pay anywhere across the backfour and is also the captain of his club.

William Galas is a graduate of the French Football Academy at Clairefontaine and commenced his professional football at the French second division side SM Caen in 1995. In 1997, he moved to Olympique de Marseille and played for them until the summer of 2001 when, after making 111 league appearances, he moved to Premiership side Chelsea for a transfer fee of 6.2 million pounds.

Gallas was a regular at Chelsea and made over 150 Premier League appearance and won back to back league titles with the club in 2005 and 2006. But in the summer of 2006 he was signed by Arsenal after he fell out with the club over contract negotiations. But Gallas has been successful at the Emirates and was the captain for the 2007-2008 season.

William Gallas made his debut for France in 2002 and has played over 60 matches for his nation. He featured in Euro 2004, 2006 Germany World Cup and Euro 2008.
