Barret Jackman is a Canadian defenseman on the St. Louis Blues.

Jackman was the Blues' first pick in 1999. He played a game during the 2001-02 season, but his rookie campaign in 2002-03 made him a household name when he won the Calder Trophy as the NHL's Rookie of the Year. Jackman had a +23 rating and 190 penalty minutes, creating a reputation as a bruising defenseman who was difficult to create scoring chances against. Jackman's selection as Rookie of the Year put him ahead of Detroit superstar Henrik Zetterberg, a remarkable feat, considering the Swede's gifted talent and offensive abilities. Jackman suffered injuries throughout his sophomore season, limiting him to very few games, but came back strong in the past three seasons.

Jackman played for Team Canada at the 2007 World Championships, winning a gold medal.
