Ed Jovanoski is a Canadian defenseman on the Phoenix Coyotes.
Jovanoski was the 1st overall pick of the Florida Panthers in 1994. He helped the Panthers reach the Stanley Cup Finals in his rookie season. He gained recognition as one of the heaviest hitters in the league. He was traded to Vancouver in 1999 and became the top defenseman on the team. In 2000, he scored 47 points, and followed that season with a 17 goal, 48 point campaign. In 2006, he failed to re-sign with the Canucks, and signed with Phoenix.
Jovanoski played for Team Canada at 7 different international competitions, winning gold at the 2002 Winter Olympics, the 2004 World Cup and the 1995 World Junior Championships. He also won a silver at the 2005 World Championships.
