Mike Modano is an American center on the Dallas Stars.
Modano was the first overall draft pick of the Minnesota North Stars in 1988. he made an immediate impact for the stars with 75 points in his rookie season. In 1992-93 and 1993-94, Modano set career highs with back to back 93 point seasons, including a 50 goal campaign in 1993-94. His 528 goals and 1283 points make him the highest scoring American player in NHL history. He is also the only remaining Dallas Star who also played for the franchise before it moved from Minnesota.
Modano won the Stanley Cup with Dallas in 1999. He has played in six NHL All-star games. He has played for the USA in 11 international competitions, including the World Junior Championships, the World Hockey Championships, the Winter Olympics and the World Cup of Hockey. In 1996, he won gold at the World Cup and took a silver medal at the 2002 Salt Lake City Olympics.
