Wide receiver Samie Parker is a member of the Seattle Seahawks. After playing his college football for the Oregon Ducks, he was drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs in round four of the 2004 NFL Draft. He was the 105th pick overall.
Parker played with the Kansas City Chiefs from 2004 through 2007. In 2008, he was signed by the Denver Broncos and released prior to the start of the season. He was then signed by the Carolina Panthers but was released on August 30. The Seattle Seahawks contracted Parker on September 10 but cut him three days later. He is presently not rostered.
In four seasons with the Chiefs, Parker played in 47 games, making 100 receptions for 1,529 yards and seven touchdowns. He's fumbled three times, losing two. Parker averaged 13.9 YPC.
The five-foot-eleven, 185-pound wideout shows fine speed in getting downfield and good running chops. But his routes are less than perfect and he tends to round off rather than make crisp cuts. He is undersized and will often get out muscled and jammed at the line. Parker will body catch but will usually not extend himself to make a reception and he's not very good in traffic, displaying a lack of control. His strength is in running under the ball. In order to survive in the NFL, he must use on more than just his speed.
