Saku Koivu is a Finnish ice hockey player who plays centre forward in the Montreal Canadiens. He currently serves as the team's captain, the first European to hold that honour.

Koivu was drafted by the Canadiens in 1993 from the Finnish SM-liiga team TPS, a team which he won two Championships with.
