Andrew Strauss is a left handed batsman and left arm medium bowler who plays for England cricket team. He has also played for Northern Districts and Middlesex.

Strauss debuted in One day International Cricket on 18th November 2003 at Dambulla against Sri Lanka. In this match, Strauss was caught by Fernando off his own bowling, when Strauss had scored just 3 runs in 9 deliveries. Sri Lanka won this match by 10 wickets. On 20th May 2004, Strauss played his first Test match against New Zealand at Lord’s. In the 1st innings, Strauss took the catch of Fleming. Strauss scored 112 runs in 215 deliveries inclusive of 13 fours and was eventually caught by Richardson off the bowling of Vettori. In the 2nd innings, he scored 83 runs in 171 deliveries and was finally run out. England won this match by 7 wickets.
