Geoff Howarth was a right handed batsman and right arm offbreak bowler who played for New Zealand Cricket team. He also played for Surrey, Northern Districts and Auckland.

Howarth debuted in Test cricket on 20th February 1975 at Auckland against England. In the 1st innings, he bowled 14 overs out of which 1 was a maiden and took the wicket of Tony Greig and conceded 47 runs. England won the match by an innings and 83 runs. Howarth’s One day International debut took place on 8th March 1975 at Dunedin against England. In this match, he took the catch of Luckhurst off the bowling of Collinge. He did not get an opportunity to bat in this match.
