John Madden is a centre and alternate captain in the New Jersey Devils lineup. He is considered to be one of the best defensive forwards in the NHL and was awarded the Frank J Selke Trophy in 2001 (second in 2003 and 2004). In 2006 he scored his 100th career goal in April, made his 100th assist in October 2006, and his played 500th game in November 2006. He won the Stanley Cup with the Devils in 1999/00 and in 2002/03.
