Geoff Barnett

Geoff Barnett is a left handed batsman and right arm medium fast bowler to have represented teams like Central Districts, Central Districts Under-17s and Canada. He was born and raised in New Zealand. However as his mother was born in Canada he could contact clubs there with an intention of playing on a working holiday. He is a rare Canadian cricketer to have a first class career overseas. He does not play for Canada if the matches clash with the New Zealand season.

Barnett made his One day International debut on 16 May 2006 at Port of Spain against Zimbabwe. In the 12 One dayers he has played so far he has amassed 227 runs with the highest score of 77. His batting average has been 18.91 and strike rate 57.17. He has hit 1 fifty, 26 boundaries, 2 sixes and has taken 4 catches.

In 2004-05 Barnett debuted in first class cricket. In 27 first class matches he has played in 49 innings and has made a highest score of 136. His strike rate has been 43.35 and he has 2 centuries and 5 half centuries against his name. As a fielder he has taken 27 catches.
