Friday Kasteni

Friday Kasteni has played for teams like Zimbabwe, Zimbabwe Provinces, Zimbabwe A, Midlands, Centrals and Africa XI. He is a left handed batsman and a wicketkeeper. At Kwekwe Sports Club in a Logan Cup match during his first class debut for Midlands he scored an unbeaten century at the age of 16 and since then became noticed.

In 2004-05 Kasteni made his first class debut. He has played in 10 first class matches during which he has batted in 20 innings. He could accumulate 564 runs at a batting average of 29.68 and strike rate of 57.43. His highest score has been an unbeaten 100 and he has taken 10 catches. He has also bowled 30 balls and conceded 37 runs.

Kasteni made his List A debut on 6 July 2006 at Bulawayo in a match between Bangladesh A and Zimbabwe A. In 18 List A matches he has scored 317 runs at a batting average of 18.64 and a strike rate of 55.71. In these he has hit 30 boundaries and has taken 3 catches. His highest score has been 73.

Kasteni played his first One day International on 10 February 2007 at Harare in a match between Zimbabwe and Bangladesh. He participated in 3 One dayers and scored 18 runs at a strike rate of 42.85.
