Michael Robert Brown is an English football player who currently features for the English Premier League club Wigan Athletic. He plays as a midfielder.

Michael Brown started his professional club career at Premiership club Manchester City in 1995 and played for them for four season, scoring twice in 89 league appearances. In 2000 Brown was signed by Sheffield United where he spent his most productive years till date. He scored 28 goals in 150 league matches and in the 2002-2003 season was adjudged as the “Player of the Year”.

In 2004 north London side Tottenham Hotspur signed Michael Brown in 2004 when David Pleat was the manager. He played for two seasons for Spurs and scored two goals in 50 English Premier League matches.

In 2006 he was signed by Fulham and played 41 matches for the Cottagers but left the club in the summer of 2007 after a managerial alteration at the London club. He was then signed by Wigan Athletic in 2007 and has been a regular for Wigan since his arrival at the JJB Stadium.
