Daniel Briere

Daniel Briere is a Canadian center on the Philadelphia Flyers.

Briere was drafted in 1996 by the Phoenix Coyotes after a tremendous career in the QMJHL, where he scored 170 goals and 246 assists in 3 seasons. Briere received limited playing time in Phoenix until the 2001-02 season, when he scored 60 points. He was traded to the Buffalo Sabres near the end of the 2002-03 season. Briere came into his own on the Sabres, scoring 32 goals and 95 points in the 2006-07 season. He was named the MVP of the 2007 All-star game as well.

The Philadelphia Flyers signed Briere to an eight year deal before the 2007-08 season, and he has become one of the team's biggest stars. His 31 goals and 72 points helped the Flyers returned to the playoffs after a dismal showing in 2006-07.

Briere has won three gold medals with Team Canada in the 1997 Junior Championships and the 2003 and 2004 World Championships. In the 2003 tournament, Briere had 4 goals and 9 points.
