Scott Speed races for the Scuderia Toro Rosso in Formula 1. He started out in karting where he competed from the age of ten between 1993 and 2000. He went on to the Formula series in 2001 adn won the Formula Renault and the German Formula Renault in 2004. The outcome of this was a drive in the GP2 Series iSport team where he was promoted to first driver and finished third place. He made his debut in Formula 1 in 2006 becoming the first American since Michael Andretti in 1993 to compete in Formula 1.
