Frank Gore is a running back for the NFL's San Francisco 49ers. Gore, who played for the University of Miami, was drafted by the 49ers in the third round of the 2005 draft. He was the 63rd pick overall.

Gore was a 49er for three seasons, appearing in 45 games and running the ball 699 times for a total of 3,405 yards. He's rushed for over 1,000 yards in two of his three seasons. Gore has scored 16 touchdowns while committing nine fumbles. His overall average gain is 4.9 yards per carry.

Gore is a prototypical power running back. He can get his pads low and pound through defenders, using his mass, strength and toughness to move players out of the way. His stiff arm is topnotch, and it allows him to pick up additional yards. Although he originally utilized a slashing type of running style, two knee injuries have forced him to become a power back. Gore has lost a step of two. He is a fine blocker but a rudimentary receiver. He must protect the ball more and maintain control.

In 2006, he led the NFC in rushing, gaining 1,695 yards and averaging 5.4 yards per carry. That same year, he was selected to the Pro Bowl and was an All-Pro pick.
