Luis Anibal Montañez, called Lou, was born on December 15, 1981, in Bayamón, Puerto Rico. He is a left fielder for the Baltimore Orioles.

Lou is 6' 2", weighs 200 pounds, and bats and throws right.

High School
Lou attended Coral Park High School in Miami.

Minor Leagues
Lou was drafted by the Chicago Cubs third overall in the 2000 MLB Draft. He spent seven years in the Cubs Minor League Baseball team, but wasn't called up.

On January 5, 2007 he signed a minor league contract with the Baltimore Orioles. n 2008, he batted .335 with 26 home runs and 97 RBIs in 116 games for the Orioles AA affiliate Bowie Baysox, and was rewarded with a call to the majors.

Major Leagues
Lou made his major league debut on August 5, 2008, as a defensive replacement. On August 6 he got a home run in his first at-bat making him only the the second Oriole ever (and the 101st MLB player) to accomplish the feat.
