Claudio Roberto Da Silva

Claudio Roberto da Silva, commonly known as Cacapa, is a Brazilian football player who currently features for the English Premier League club Newcastle United. He plays as a central defender.

Cacapa started his professional club football with Brazilian side Atletico Mineiro in 1996 and played for them for four seasons, scoring 2 goals in 68 league appearances. He was signed signed by French giants Lyon in 2000 and played for them for 7 years, scoring 7 goals in 125 French Ligue 1 matches. Cacapa won the French league 6 times with Lyon.

Premiership side Newcastle United signed Cacapa on an initial two-year deal with an option for the third.

Cacapa played 19 Premier League matches for Newcastle in the 2007-2008 season.

Cacapa made his international debut for Brazil in February 2000 against Thailand and has played four matches for his nation so far.
