Jose Enrique Sanchez Diaz, commonly known as simply Jose Enrique, is a Spanish football player who currently features for the English Premier League side Newcastle United. He is an out-and-out left back.
Jose Enrique started his professional club football at Levante in 2004 and after one season moved to Valencia, although he played the 2005-2006 season on loan to Celta de Vigo. He played for Villarreal in the 2006-2007 season and featured in 23 La Liga matches.
In the summer of 2007 Newcastle United signed Jose Enrique for 6.3 million pounds and he played 23 Premier League matches for the Geordies for the 2007-2008 season. He made his debut for Newcastle against West Ham United in September and was more or less a good player for Newcastle that season.
