Wideout Nate Burleson played his college ball with Nevada. The Minnesota Vikings chose him in the third round as the 71st pick overall in the 2003 NFL Draft.

While at the University of Nevada, he had 248 receptions for 3,293 yards (13.3 YPC) and 22 touchdowns. In 2001 versus San Jose State, Burleson had 326 receiving yards. In 2002, he led the nation in catches with 138. He was an All-American, All-WAC and the team MVP.

From 2003 through 2005, he played for the Minnesota Vikings. He went to his present club, the Seattle Seahawks, in 2006.

In four of five seasons, he has played in every regular season game. In 76 NFL contests, he's caught 195 passes for 2,675 yards (13.7 YPC) and 23 touchdowns. He's fumbled twice, losing both. Burleson has returned 123 punts for 1,215 yards and three touchdowns and 55 kickoffs for 1,284 yards and one score. On coverage units, he's made 12 tackles, all of which were solo.

In five seasons, Burleson has been an on-again/off-again starter. The six-foot-even, 195-pound athlete is a skilled and athletic receiver who also has fine return chops. He is a fine number three receiver. Burleson reads defenses well, knows how to find the soft spots and runs clean and crisp routes. He's a reliable receiver who is best at intermediate routes. He does not possess the speed to be a deep threat.

Burleson has reliable hands when catching punts and kickoffs and is a steady return man. His fine field vision has allowed him to break a few for scores.

His size and speed work against him, especially on the receiving end. His lack of speed and moves are detrimental on runbacks. Burleson offers teams some variety and is a sound starter though not a first-rate one.
