After playing his college football for the Baylor Bears, wide receiver Dominique Zeigler was signed as an undrafted free agent in 2007 by the San Francisco 49ers.
While at Baylor, Zeigler played in 31 games, starting 21 of them. He caught 112 passes for 1,182 yards (10.6 YPC) and 10 touchdowns. In his first season with the 49ers, he played in no games.
The lanky Zeigler stands at six-foot-two and weighs 181 pounds. He's good sized for a NFL receiver but at this point lacks adequate skills to be anything more than a number four pass catcher. He's got decent speed and good hands. His tall frame allows him to shield defenders, keeping them out of the play. Zeigler does not have the speed necessary to be a long ball threat but he could be an adequate intermediary route runner. He must refine his route skills and develop a better sense of where the open ground might be. Durability is an issue with him.
