Prior to being drafted by the Arizona Cardinals, wideout Larry Fitzgerald played his college ball with the Pittsburgh Panthers. He was the third overall pick in the 2004 NFL Draft.

While at Pittsburgh, Fitzgerald quickly established himself as one of the top receivers in the nation. In 2003, his sophomore year, he earned the Walter Camp Player of the Year Award (for the best player in college football), the 2003 Biletnikoff Award (for the best wide receiver in college football), and the 2003 Columbus Touchdown Club Player of the Year Award. He was also a unanimous All-America selection. In 26 games with the Panthers, Fitzgerald caught 161 passes for 2,677 yards (16.6 YPC) and 34 touchdowns.

In four seasons with Arizona, Larry Fitzgerald has played in 60 of 64 possible regular-season games, making 330 receptions for 4,544 yards (13.8 YPC) and 34 touchdowns. He's fumbled four times, losing three. He was selected to the Pro Bowl in 2005 and 2007.

Fitzgerald, who is six-foot-three and 226 pounds, is one of the NFL's premiere receivers. Using his size, strength and quickness, he can get through jams at the line and leap above defenders to bring down passes. An excellent route runner, he's also adept at adjusting to errant throws. Although he's not the fastest guy in the game, he's able to accelerate quickly, becoming a fine deep threat. He reads coverages quickly and accurately, finding the soft spot. After the catch, he'll usually make the first guy miss, but he has a tough time outrunning defenders or faking out other tacklers. Fine coordination, balance and sure hands make him a top pass catcher.
