DeSean Jackson

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeSean Jackson played his college football for California. He was chosen in the second round of the 2008 NFL Draft by the Eagles. Jackson was the 49th pick overall.

While at California, Jackson was a standout player, being designated All Pac-10 (2006, 2007) and AP All-American (2006, 2007). In 2006, the wide receiver was given the Randy Moss Award.

Jackson brings a whole lot of talent and a small frame to the field. Standing just five-feet-ten and weighing 175 pounds, he's a tough, fast and resilient receiver with good hands and a fearless attitude. He can stretch the field if need be, but is especially adept at short and intermediate routes. There are concerns that his small frame will make him vulnerable to being held up at the line of scrimmage, but Jackson's foot quickness, keen speed and out-of-the-box acceleration will help him avoid this pitfall.

Jackson is an explosive runner, who knows how to find the seam and get free. He'll have a tough time with bigger corners and safeties, although his leaping ability will be a big asset in overcoming this problem. Jackson will try to use his fine athleticism, toughness and intellect to create a niche for himself amongst NFL receivers. He is a playmaker who was hampered by minor injuries in his final college season. He's performed well in the 2008 pre-season.
