Nicholas “Nicky” Butt is a England international football player who currently features for the English Premier League club Newcastle United. He plays as a defensive midfielder and while at Manchester United won the Premiership, FA Cup and UEFA Champions League.

Nicky Butt developed at the youth academy of Real Madrid and made his debut for the senior side in 1993. He played for Man United until 2004 and was one of the best players for the Red Devils, notching up 269 Premier League appearances and scoring 21.

Nicky Butt won the UEFA Champions League with Man United in 1999 and also won the Premier League crown on 6 occasions(1996,1997,1999,2000,2001,2003). He also won the FA Cup thrice(1996,1999,2004).

Nicky Butt was signed by Newcastle United in the summer of 2004 for 2 million pounds but he had a disappointing 2004-2005 season. Butt though recovered in the next season as he played on loan at Birmingham City for 2005-2006 and is now firmly established as the club’s first choice central defensive player for Newcastle.

Nicky Butt made his international debut for England in 1997 and has played 39 matches for his nation so far. He played at the 2002 World Cup for England.
