Later on in his professional years in Golf, Phil Mickelson would become a household name. He was the first left-hander to win a PGA championship. He was also the first left-hander to win two majors. After the Buick Invitational in the year 2000, Phil Mickelson would be known as the man who ended Tiger Wood’s victory streak at six. He also made himself known for his short games, powerful full swing, and his “Phil flop” shot.

For quite some time before having a win at major tournaments, Phil Mickelson was known as “the best golfer never to win a major”. In fact, Phil shares a record for the most number of second-places won in a major tournament.
