Fawad Alam

Fawad Alam is a Left handed batsman and a Left arm slow orthodox bowler with the Pakistani Cricket team. He has played with the Karachi Cricket Association Under-19s, National Bank of Pakistan, Karachi Dolphins and the Pakistan Customs cricket teams.

Fawad Alam started playing first class cricket since 2003. He made his debut in International cricket in a One day International match against Sri Lanka at Abu Dhabi in 2007. Alam was dismissed for a golden duck by Fernando who caught and bowled him. Sri Lanka won the match by 115 runs. Alam was accompanied by Najaf Shah who was also debuting for the Pakistani team. He was also a part of the Under 19 World Cup Pakistan team that won the Championship. In 2006, Alam helped the Karachi Dolphins to reach the finals of the Twenty20 Cup by scoring 54 runs and claiming 5 wickets. He was awarded the Best Batsman, Best Bowler, Man of the finals and the Man of the Series award. Alam was also a part of the first Twenty20 World Championship Pakistan team in 2008. He has yet to play a International test match.

In a total of 10 One day Internationals’, Alam has scored 130 runs with a high score of 63 not out and has claimed 4 wickets at an economy of 5.34 runs per over. He also has a total of 3 wickets in the 3 International Twenty20 matches that he has played.
