Donald Brashear is an American/Canadian left winger on the Washington Capitals.

Brashear is one of the top enforcers in the NHL today, due to his size and his boxing skills. Brashear was undrafted, but signed with Montreal in 1992, after playing three seasons in the QMJHL. In his first full season with Montreal, he had 4 points and 223 penalty minutes, a trend he would keep up throughout the rest of his career. Brashear was traded to Vancouver in 1996 and spent six years with the Canucks. He had the best statistical season of his career in 2000-01, when he scored 9 goals and 28 points along with 145 penalty minutes. Brashear was traded to Philadelphia after an incident in which he was struck in the head with a stick by Marty McSorley. McSorley was charged with assault with a weapon, and served 18 months of probation.

Brashear played for the Flyers for four seasons, and was a key part of one of the biggest brawls in NHL history in 2004. The Flyers and Senators had a fight in which the most penalty minutes in a single game were handed out, with Brashear receiving the highest individual total. Brashear was signed by Washington in 2006. In 926 career games, Brashear has only 200 points, but has 2440 penalty minutes.
