She aimed to bring honor to Japan by getting the Women’s World Cup, together with Shinobu Moromizato, since Ai Miyazato and Rui Kitada won the 2005 inaugural edition. She eventually finished number 9th in the Japan LPGA ranking during her rookie season in 2007. She also got the record breaking fashion in April and won the Fujisankei Ladies Classic where she was known to be the golfer who gained the fastest victory in the LPGA Tour of Japan. She made three straight birdies starting from the number 13 hole and was able to secure a victory by one stroke. Within four months she turned professional. She, herself was surprised to be able to win the tournament the quickest time possible.
She joined the final round at the Women’s World Cup at the Gary Player Country Club in January 20, 2008 Sun City, South Africa. She also finished the game and tied for 15 at the Fields Open in Hawaii in July. She has the highest score among the Japanese golfers. It showed that the Miki, as a Japanese player, flawlessly adjusted her style for the season-opener- all too ready for her second season as a professional.
