Brian Joshua Cook is an American professional basketball player who plays as a power forward currently for the Orlando Magic of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He was born on December 4, 1980 in Lincoln, Illinois. Brain weighs 258 lb (117 kg) and is 6 ft 9 in (2.06 m) in height. He wears the number 43 jersey for the Orlando Magic.

Cook finished his high school from the Lincoln Community High School. He led his school team called the Railsplitters to the quarter finals of the Illinois High School Association Class AA state boy’s basketball tournament. He was also selected for the 1998 State Farm Holiday Classic all-tournament team.

Cook also played 132 games at the University of Illinois beginning with the 1999-2000 season. He led the team in rebounding each year. As a senior in the 2002-03 season, Cook led the Fighting Illini which was the name of the University team, in scoring 20 points per game. He received the Chicago Tribune Silver Basketball as the Most Valuable Player of the Big Ten Conference. Cook left Illinois as the school's third all-time leading scorer with 1748 total points, at an average of 13.2 points per game.

Cook made his professional debut in the 2003-04 season which was not much of success. He played 35 games and averaged 4.4 points and 2.9 rebounds in 12.6 minutes. He also pulled down a team-high eight rebounds and recorded a career-high four blocks 1/7 against the Denver Nuggets. In his 13 postseason games, Cook averaged 0.9 points and 0.9 rebounds in 3.5 minutes.

In the 2006-07 season Cook played in 65 games averaging 6.9 points and 3.3 rebounds in 15.7 minutes. He also recorded first double-double of the season with 11 points and 11 rebounds with New Jersey. Due to an ankle injury he missed on six games. He averaged 3.6 points, 1.2 rebounds and 10.2 minutes in five postseason games. On November 20, 2007, he along with his teammate Maurice Evans was traded to the Orlando Magic in exchange for Trevor Ariza.
