Brad Johnson fan club
Quarterback Brad Johnson was drafted in 1994 by the Minnesota Vikings after playing football at Florida State University. He was taken in the ninth round and was the 227th pick overall.
Johnson is a well-traveled signal caller. He first played for the Vikings (1992-1998). In 1995, he also played for the London Monarchs (NFL in Europe). In 1999, he moved to the Washington Redskins (1999-2000) and after that he did a stint with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2001-2004). He went back to the Vikings (2005-2006) for two more years and is presently with the Dallas Cowboys (2007-present). Johnson serves as the backup quarterback for the team. He's the only professional quarterback to have thrown a touchdown pass to himself. This occurred in 1997 against the Carolina Panthers when Johnson tossed a side-angle pass which he stayed under, caught and ran in for a score.
Johnson is a two-time Pro Bowler (1999, 2002), and he led the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to a 48-21 win over the Oakland Raiders in Super Bowl XXXVII. In sixteen years, he's thrown 167 touchdowns and 117 interceptions. He QB rating is 83.1. Johnson has passed for a total of 28,627 yards and has a completion rate of 61.8-percent. In 1999 with the Redskins, he passed for 4,005 yards. He's thrown for over 3,000 yards in five separate seasons and he is the first NFL quarterback to complete at least 60-percent of his passes for a dozen straight seasons.
The 39 year-old quarterback does not possess great arm strength but he does have fantastic football smarts. Although not great outside of the pocket, he can sense its collapse around him and is often able to escape pressure. Johnson is known for his work ethic and preparation as well as for his leadership qualities
