David Villa fan club
David Villa is a Spanish international striker who plays for the Spanish Primera Liga side Valencia CF. Villa is considered as one of the best and most lethal strikers in the world and is aso reputed to be the best for the Spanish national side.
Villa was born in the Asturias region in Northern Spain and played his first professional football with Sporting de Gijón in the 2000-2001 season. He scored 18 and 20 goals in the next couple of seasons and then moved onto Real Zaragoza in La Liga in the summer of 2003 where he stayed until the summer of 2005.
At Valencia David Villa has developed into one of the most complete and potent strikers in the game today. In his first season at the Mestalla, Villa scored an amazing 25 league goals, just 1 fewer than top scorer Samuel Eto’o of FC Barcelona. Villa has consistently scored for Valencia since then but is set to leave Valencia in the summer of 2008 since the club has been dragged down near the foot of the table and is courting relegation fears at the end of this season.
Villa has been a key figure in the international arena too. He made his debut for the Spanish national side in February, 2005 against San Marino in Almeria. He has since established himself as the main striker for Spain and scored a staggering 7 goals for Spain in the Euro 2008 qualifiers thereby becoming Spain’s top scorer in the qualifying campaign.
