Lucas Pezzini Leiva is a Brazilian football player who currently features for the English Premier League giants Liverpool. He is a midfielder.

Lucas made his professional start for Gremio in Brazil in 2005 and played 38 league matches for them in two years, scoring 5 goals. He became the youngest ever player to receive the Placar magazine’s Bola de Ouro(Golden Ball) given to the best player in the Campeonato Brasileiro.

Lucas was signed by Liverpool in the summer of 2007 for 9 million euros. He had a reasonably decent first season at Anfield, playing 18 league matches and scoring 1 goals.

Lucas has already earned his first international caps for Brazil. He made his international debut in August 2007 against Algeria.
