Running back Steven Jackson, who played his college football with Oregon State, was the 24th pick overall in the 2004 NFL Draft. He was chosen by the St. Louis Rams in the first round.

Jackson played for OSU for three years and entered the NFL Draft with one season of eligibility remaining. He played in 36 games for the Beavers, carrying the ball 743 times and accumulating 3,625 yards. Jackson, who averaged 4.9 yards per carry, scored 39 rushing touchdowns. He also made 66 catches for 680 yards and six touchdowns. Jackson returned seven kicks for 240 yards and one score. The back notched 4,545 all-purpose yards, which ranks him second in OSU history.

In four seasons with the Rams, he's played in 57 of 64 regular-season contests. During that time, the versatile running back has run for a total of 4,249 yards in 971 attempts for an average run of 4.4 yards. He's scored 30 rushing touchdowns, including a career high 13 in 2006. Jackson fumbled nine times, losing seven. As a receiver, he's grabbed 190 passes for 1,586 yards and an 8.3-yard average. He's scored six times on catches and fumbled four times, losing one. He was All-Pro, a Pro Bowl selection and the Ram MVP in 2006.

The six-foot-two, 231-pound running back shows a fine burst and good power. He's tough to tackle, ably making elusive moves and his strength to wear down defenses. His stiff-arm, balance and speed around the corner are all very good. He runs fairly crisp routes and is tough to bring down after making a catch. Jackson lacks another gear to break out into the open field. He sometimes has trouble holding onto the ball and recently has shown signs of wear and tear.
