Victor Valdes Arribas is a Spanish footballer who plays for the Spanish and European giants FC Barcelona. Valdes is a goalkeeper and a Catalan by birth. He is rated as one of the best in the business.

Victor Valdes joined Barcelona’s youth team in 1992 and quickly rose through the ranks at Barca. He was made part of the senior squad in the 2002-2003 and from next season, he had chiseled out a place for himself as a first choice goalkeeper for the Catalan institution.

Victor Valdes won the Zamora trophy for the best goalkeeper in Spain in the 2004-2005 season when Barcelona won their first La Liga title in 6 years. He played all the 38 league matches for Barcelona in the 2006-2008, equaling a goalkeeping record constructed by Barcelona legend Andoni Zubizarreta. Valdes also holds the Barcelona record of not conceding for 466 minutes.

Inspire of all such honours, Victor Valdes has failed to earn an international call-up. This wears down to the fact that his Real Madrid counter-part Iker Casillas has firmly cemented his lace in the starting line-up for Spain.
