Quarterback Charlie Whitehurst played his college football with the Clemson Tigers and in 2006 was drafted by the San Diego Chargers in round three of the NFL Draft. He was the 81st pick overall.

In his senior season with the Tigers, Whitehurst passed for 2,474 yards, completing 67.2-percent of his passes. He tossed 11 touchdown passes and ran for three more scores. His rating was 133.5. He also threw 10 interceptions.

In 2006, he appeared in two games with San Diego, accumulating no passing stats. In those two games, he rushed for 13 yards and one touchdown.

The six-foot-four, 227-pound quarterback is the right size for a NFL signal caller. His arm strength is top-notch; he's able to deliver the ball into tight spots and he runs well. Although still raw, Whitehurst has some fine tools that, once developed, could make him a substantial threat in the field general position.
