Marques Tuiasosopo is the third-string quarterback for the Oakland Raiders. The former Washington State quarterback was chosen by the Oakland Raiders in round two of the 2001 NFL Draft. He was the 59th overall pick.
In his senior season, he led the Washington State Huskies to a Pac-10 title and a 34-24 win over Purdue in the Rose Bowl. Tuiasosopo was the Rose Bowl MVP.
Tuiasosopo was with the Oakland Raiders from 2001 through 2006. He made his pro debut with the team in 2001. In 2007, he signed a one-year deal with the New York Jets but did not see any action. In 2008, he returned to the Raiders.
In seven seasons, Tuiasosopo has played in 11 games. In that time, he has gone 48 of 88 (54.5-percent) for 550 yards. He's thrown two touchdowns and seven interceptions, earning a rating of 48.0.
A major dilemma for Tuiasosopo has been the fact that there has been very little time spent developing his talents. He's a seven-year vet with very little experience. The six-foot-one, 220-pound quarterback is undersized for a NFL signal caller. He's a good athlete who possesses some fine running chops. As a passer, his accuracy is below average, his reads are slow and his reaction time is below average. Additionally, Tuiasosopo has difficulty seeing the entire field.
