Chad Pennington quarterbacked for Marshall University before being picked in the first round of the 2000 NFL Draft. The New York Jets made Pennington the 18th pick overall.

While at Marshall, Pennington led his team to three Mid-American Conference titles. The quarterback finished his college career with a completion rate of 63.4-percent. He passed for 13,423 yards, throwing 115 touchdowns and 45 interceptions. He was the Motor City Bowl MVP (1999).

Pennington has played his entire NFL career with the Jets. Only once has he played in every regular-season game. That was in 2006 when he received the NFL Comeback Player of the Year Award. The previous season he had appeared in only three games as he was knocked out early in the season by an injury. In 2007, he suffered another injury that removed him for the rest of that season.

In 70 games over seven seasons, the quarterback has thrown 82 touchdowns and 55 interceptions. His rating stands at 88.9 and his completion rate is 65.6-percent. He's thrown for 13,738 yards.

Pennington is highly competitive, very smart and instinctive. He reads defensive schemes quickly and has fine poise in the pocket. His arm strength is average and it's often tough for him to get the ball into tight spots. He's injury prone and this has worn him down a bit. The signal caller has a solid completion rate of over 65-percent. He's a leader, and if he can stay healthy, he’'l be a force on the field for years to come.
