Quarterback Jay Cutler was the 11th overall pick in the first round of the 2006 NFL Draft. He was chosen by the Denver Broncos after quarterbacking the Vanderbilt Commodores.

At Vandy, Cutler was an AP First-team All-SEC Freshman (2002), SEC Offensive Player of the Year (2005) and First-team All-SEC (2005). While in college, he threw 59 touchdown passes and 36 interceptions. He was sacked 80 times. He also ran for 17 scores. His passing efficiency was over 122. In his final two seasons, he completed 60-percent of his passes.

During his initial pro season, Cutler played in the final five games of the season and performed well. In 2006, he became the Bronco starter. In 21 games, the QB has thrown for a total of 4,498 yards, completing 62.6-percent of his passes. He's thrown for 29 touchdowns and given up 19 interceptions. His rating stands at 88.2. In two seasons, he's fumbled 12 times, losing three.

Cutler, who stands at six-foot-three and weighs in at 233 pounds, is a rugged and tough athlete. Although his quickness and footwork are not the best, the QB can make any throw required, including those where the target is in a tight space. Cutler exudes calm and has a cool demeanor. In his first two years, he's had trouble hanging onto the ball and he's also thrown some bad passes. Recently, the quarterback learned that he is a Type I diabetic, which he currently has under control. He's an intelligent player and solid worker. As long as he takes care of his health, he should excel in the NFL.
