Quarterback Tyler Palko played his college football for the Pittsburgh Panthers and was signed as an undrafted free agent by the New Orleans Saints in 2007.

At Pittsburgh, Palko was second-team Big East twice. He passed for 8,343 yards, hitting for 66 touchdowns. He's ranked as one of the top three quarterbacks in Pittsburgh history.

In his first season with New Orleans, Palko did not take one snap. Don't expect him to get a snap in 2008 unless the first two QBs go down with injuries.

The quarterback, who stands six-foot-one and weighs 215 pounds, can scramble, throw well when running and looks to have solid playmaking smarts. In college, he had the ability to run his offense with a cool head and sound management skills. He possesses a good work ethic. Palko has fine arm strength but often tries to put the ball into very tight spaces. When in the pocket, he needs to have more patience and must also know when to get rid of the ball to avoid the sack.
