Paulo Renato Rebocho Ferreira, popularly known as Paulo Ferreira, is a Portuguese international football player who currently features for the English Premier League side Chelsea. He plays as a right back although he can also play as a left back or in the centre of the back four.
Paulo Ferreira started his career at little known Portuguese side GD Estoril-Praia n 1997 and then moved onto Vitoria FC in 2002. In the summer of 2002 he was signed by FC Porto and went on to make 62 appearances in the Portuguese Super Liga until the summer of 2004 when Jose Mourinho signed him at Chelsea. Ferreira won the UEFA Champions League with Porto in 2004.
Paulo Ferreira was a regular at Chelsea when Mourinho was the coach but lost his place somewhat in the 2007-2008 season. He has played over 100 matches in all competitions for Chelsea.
Paulo Ferreira made his international debut for Portugal in 2002 and played for them at Euro 2004, 2006 Germany World Cup and Euro 2008.
