Joe Kitna

Jon Kitna played for Central Washington University and in 1997, after finishing his college career, went undrafted. He first played for NFL Europe with the Barcelona Dragons. After the Dragons, he went to the Seattle Seahawks (1997-2000). He then played for the Cincinnati Bengals (2001-2005). In 2006, he signed with his present team—the Detroit Lions. He is the Lions' starting quarterback.

Quarterback Jon Kitna has been a NFL quarterback for 11 years. For seven of those seasons, he was the primary starter for the team on which he was playing. In 124 games, Kitna has gone 2,394 of 3,994 pass attempts, completing 59.9-percent. His overall QB rating is 76.8 as he's thrown 147 touchdowns and 146 picks. His passes have covered 26,535 yards. Kitna has fumbled the ball 41 times, losing 12.

The six-foot-two, 220-pound Kitna possesses average skills and below average playmaking ability. The QB is experienced and shows fine leadership attributes. He's good at analyzing pass coverages and defensive schemes. Kitna has been a streaky passer for his entire career. He holds the ball too long and often takes sacks. The signal caller, who often tries to force to force the ball into tight spots, has a tendency to toss the ball to the opposition. His timing and release are under average. The aging Kitna is better suited to be a backup and not the starter spot.
